Dr Omid Salar
If there is one thing I want patients to know is that I will always give my very best when treating them.
Omid’s back story:
While it wasn’t a fait accompli that I became a dentist, I am not surprised I did. My mother is a dentist and is still practicing. She’s been a dentist in Persia for forty years and is still going strong. As a child, she noticed I had the right sort of hand for art. Because of that she encouraged me to go into dentistry.
My mother’s philosophies around dentistry have stuck with me. She taught me that dentistry is part science, part art, and these should be in balance. She reminded me we’re caring for people; they’re human just like us. And we’re here to help.
This means that as much as I enjoy the science and technical aspects of my work, I know caring for my patients also means having a strong and real connection with them. Actually, a lot of my patients are like family.
What Omid loves about his work:
Without planning to, I’ve become a ‘go to’ guy for root canal treatment. When my colleagues from within our own, and other external practices refer difficult cases to me, I feel a sense of pride and responsibility to get it right the first time. It might sound funny but I love doing this kind of work, along with cosmetic treatments.
Why? Because with root canal work, every case is different, which means you are challenged to approach each individual with fresh eyes. While people can’t see the transformation, they feel differently as a result of getting through that experience more calmly and confidently than they expected.
When it comes to cosmetic work, I really enjoy the transformation I see in my patients. Often they’ll have tears of joy and relief – and it’s this experience, where you make a difference in a person’s life – that makes me love my work.
What Omid wants for Define Dental patients:
What I want for my patients is: that they feel comfortable and know, with absolute certainty, I gave my very best. When I’m with my patients, I’m with them 100 percent. This gives them the confidence they’re in good hands.
What we love about Omid:
We love the fact that Omid cares enough. He gets that more complex treatments can be scary for some patients and he does everything he can to make your experience comfortable and stress-free.
