When you see the difference in your patients’ health and lives, you know all your work has been worthwhile. I love what I do and couldn’t imagine not enjoying seeing the happiness in my patients when they start to enjoy their teeth. It’s a good feeling.
Sima’s back story:
I cultivated an early interest in all things medical and as soon as I could I applied to a college in the USA, where I enrolled in dental hygiene. I graduated in 1983 and love my work now as much as I loved it then.
My family moved to Australia in 1989 and although we were based in Melbourne, we traded the cooler weather for the Gold Coast’s sunshine and beaches.
What I love about my work is helping to make constructive changes in the lives of the patients I see.
What Sima wants for Define Dental patients:
What I want for our patients is for them to gain a deeper understanding of what good oral hygiene is. Often when I’m talking to people, they don’t know what it means. I take the time to educate them and making them aware of everything they need to know, starting with the basics: things like how to brush and floss properly, how to care for gums, how to take the best care of your dental health. A lot of people just don’t know about this. Even if they’ve been seeing a dentist for a long time, it may not have been explained to them so they understand and take the necessary actions.
This is what I’m passionate about because I know the difference good hygiene makes in people’s lives.
What do we love about Sima?
We love that she loves everything hygiene as much as she does. In fact, we think it’s a tough call between Sima and Dr Jabbour. Sima is absolutely dedicated to improving the dental health of our patients. She works super hard to make sure they know how to brush and floss – and actually enjoy it.
